I'd seen some posts YEARS back about a Celso and Pedro, I'm more interested in the Celso connection and if it would lead back to Monticello,NM or Canada Alamosa (same place/name change to Monticello). I'm looking for a Josefa Ruiz that born 2 boys. Manuel, Est. birth 1894 and Juan, Est. birth 1896 then another son Pedro in 1910. This Pedro (1910-1960) would be my grandfather.

The 1900 census has a Josefa Quella (mis-spelled for Cuellar?) that has 2 boys, with the last name Quella. A 1910 census has a Josefa Ruiz with 2 boys about the same age with the last name Ruiz. I know Manuel and Juan were common names back then.

A 1889-1945 New Mexico Death Records (NMDR) shows her parents to be Celsa Cuellar,(fathers name mis-spelled for Celso? Maybe two women raising her?)and a Rita Ruiz as parents. Link...

"http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#...". (Josefa Ruiz, New Mexico)

I believe that the Josefa Ruiz buried at the Golden Gates Mortuary in Monticello, NM is connected to the Cuellar family in NM. Cuellar name big in TX, NM and CA.

If this makes sense or you can make a connection to my findings, please email me titled RUIZ FAMILY HISTORY.

Thanks!
