Hello Eddy, Rachel Ann Cude was my Grandfathers oldest sister.James Washington Walker is my Grandfather. My Dad, Charles Daniel Walker, always said he was a 1/4 Indian and that his Grandmother was Indian , Cherokee or Cherokee Chocktaw. Her name was Cynthia East that married Jesse W. Walker. Some researchers say that on the 1860 Gonzales Co. Census that there is a "John Walker" , about 10 years old living with James Washington Cude and Rachel Ann Cude.I believe it to be James Washington Walker, her little brother.I believe it said Jas Walker--10 years.Jesse died when James was just a"Yearling" as stated by James in a story in the book, Pioneer History of Bander Co.His Mother , Cynthia died ABOUT 1859 or 1860 before the census was taken. On the 1850 Walker Co. Census James is listed as being 1 year old but he in fact was born Dec. 25 1847.
I kinda got off track----Sorry!!!!!Let me hear from you.I imagine you have learned a lot moore since you posted this query but I just found it and decided to write.
Your Cuz,Charlsie Walker Porter.
