I can think of lots of reasons why they could have been there at that time. Perhaps John Thomas Tanyrallt, who was several years older, was retired from the army and an old Army friend of William; perhaps Charolotte and Tanyrallt or Tanyrallt's wife were related; perhaps Tanyrallt's home was more like a hotel and the Cubitt family just happend to be there at the time the census was taken. Do we know when William returned from India? retired from the Army? Perhaps eldest son William Jr had been sent away to school and they had gone to see him? At what age did they start school in those days? 6 years old seems young. Ah but there are many posibilities......and only one truth!
