Paula
I have been looking into my tree four about 4 years. As you can see my name is CUBBIN but up to 1860 it was CUBBON and before 1800 it was CUBON. The problem being that in the 18 and 19 centuries most of the Isle of Man population was illiterate therefore the name was written as they said it not as they spell it. CUBBIN/CUBBON/CUBON is a manx name go to www.isle-of-man.com they have a genealogy site.
