Dear Liz: Thanks for responding. The Pedro you mention - is he the right age as mine (1826-1897 NYC)? He had 3 daughters, Beatriz, Francisca and Mariana and 1 son, Francisco. All but the son are buried in Calvary Cemetery in Brooklyn. His Cuban family was from Camaguey (there are lots of them there as I'm sure you have already discovered). Possibly he went to the Philippines, or got off the ship in Mexico before he went to Cuba. The Mormon library has a Francisco Yraola in Puerto Rico who is having children in 1854. Could he be related to you? Where did you find the family in Spain? - I've been told the name is from the Basque country. My Pedro's oldest daughter, Beatriz, was born in France - so it might be that they lived very close to the French border.
