Hello,

I have French ancestors who lived in and escaped from Haiti to Cuba during the slave uprisings. I believe the family lived in Cuba until about 1840, when they went to the U. S. Names are Gerard/Girard and Bourgoin/Bourgoyne. I would be glad to share correspondence with others with similar ancestral experiences.
