I am looking for Nila Maria Gonzalez-Garriga, my grandmother's family who was from Cuba.
Nila Maria Gonzalez-Garriga's parents were Emilio Gonzalez-Muniz and Adelfina Garriga-Perez de Oro, they were married in Pinar del Rio, Cuba.
Emilio Gonzalez-Muniz family was from Asturia, Spain (Espana). Emilio lived in Aguada de Carrillos, Las Villas, Cuba. Emilio died around 1946 and is buried at Cementerio de Perea, in Las Villas, Cuba.
Nila's mother, Adelfina Garriga-Perez de Oro was from San Juan y Martinez, Pinar del Rio, Cuba. She married at least twice, first to Cixto Cordero then to Emilio Gonzalez-Muniz. Adelfina was buried in Moron, Camaguey, Cuba. She lived in Chambas, Camaguey (now I think they call that part of the province Cienfuegos), Cuba.
Cixto Cordero died before 1901. Cixto and Adelfina had at least 4 children:
1. Leonarda Cordero-Garriga (born before 1900)
2. "el nino" Corderno
3 & 4 were twins.
All of Adelfina's children except for Leonarda, and Adelfina's 1st husband, Cixto Cordero died during La guerra de Independencia (aka Spanish-American War)in Cuba. They died of either smallpox or yellowfever.
After the war, Adelfina married her second husband, Emilio Gonzalez-Muniz. Some of Emilio's brothers went on to live in Argentina.
Adelfina and Emilio had at least 7-8 children (I don't know the order):
1. ? female
2. Maria Gonzalez-Garriga
3. Ramon Gonzalez-Garriga
4. Nieves Gonzalez-Garriga
5. Josefa Gonzalez-Garriga (about 1902)
6. Nila Maria Gonzalez-Garriga 25 or 26 Sept 1908
7. Luisa Gonzalez-Garriga (after 1908)
8. Manuel Gonzalez-Garriga
