Please contact me if you know any decendants of Isabelle and Jose Prado who immigrated to Ybor City, Florida in 1894. Isabelle was born in 1854 in Cuba. In 1882, she married Jose Prado (from Spain) in Cuba. They had two daughters: America, born 1889, and Victorina born 1887. In 1894, Isabelle, Jose & daughters immigrated to Ybor City, where Jose was a "selector" in Cigar industry. In July 1903, in Ybor City, Isabelle and Jose had a son, Henry, who was my father. Jose Prado (born 1859 in Spain) died at age 52 in 1911 in Ybor City. In 1914, at age 10, my father Henry Prado was placed in the Children's Home in Tampa's Ybor City. A few months later, Henry was adopted by Ellen Dorsett from Branford, FL. and his name changed to Henry Prado Dorsett. We don't know what happened to Isabelle Prado or my father's sisters after the 1900 census. Some records indicate that perhaps America Prado might have married a Nicholas Isidro in Tampa area --and Victorina might have married a Juan Ramis in Key West, but we don't know for sure. We are searching for any decendants of (or information on) Isabelle, Jose, America, Victorina Prado. We would like to know where in Spain Jose was born and Isabelle's maiden name and where she lived in Cuba. It would mean a great deal to us to have any information on my father's birth family or to meet some living relatives. Please email me if you have any knowledge of any of these people.
