My father's family came from Caibarien, Cuba but previous ancestors were reported to me as coming from Andalusia and/or The Canary Islands. My grandfather was Aurelio Jimenez, and my grandmother was Lutgarda Cortina. If anyone knows about them, their brothers/sisters and ancestors in Spain or The Canary Islands please contact me. My father, the youngest of several children by Aurelio and Lutgarda, was born in 1910, grew up in Caibarien, Cuba, graduated from the school of medicine of the U. of Havana in 1942, and then lived in Caibarien with my mother (his wife) until 1962 when they fled Cuba.
