Black Clarkes/Allisons - Jamaican connection
Posted by: Angela Allison (ID *****2179) Date: September 22, 2003 at 07:48:44

My maternal great grandmother is a Theresa Dalton. She gave birth to a Gabriel Clarke in c1900. She then married a ? Bryan and had four further children. She lived near Whitehorses, St Thomas, Jamaica for the remainder of her life.

It is believed that Gabriel Clarke's father was killed in a canal/mine in Cuba/Panama in c1900.

My paternal grandfather was a William Allison b. 1885-1900. He had children by a Lillian Allison. My father, Erick Emmanuel Allison was born in 1921 in Mocho, Clarendon, Jamaica. Willliam Allison was a horse trainer who often worked in Cuba. He had children by another woman besides Lillian Allison. Some of his children may have been born in Cuba. I am trying to find out more about my paternal grandparents eg. dates of birth, death, where buried, marriage, siblings, other children they had, their parentage etc.
