Looking for info on Captain Edward KNIGHT (born ca 1734 in RI, died after 1790, where?) and his wife, Patience GORTON (b. ca 1730, died when? in Pomfret, Windham County, CT). They had 3 children: Amy KNIGHT (b. 1762 in Providence, RI d. Sept 7, 1848 m. Jeremiah WILLIAMS Jan. 1785); Anna V. KNIGHT (b. June 5, 1764, d. July 7, 1856 m. Stephen WILLIAMS May 10, 1787); Noel KNIGHT (b. Dec. 2, 1769 where?, d. Feb. 7, 1833 where? NY?).

Noel KNIGHT, my g(x4) grandfather (above) married Martha WHITE, daughter of Adams WHITE and Hannah CAPRON ca. 1792. They had a son, Gorton KNIGHT, born in Connecticut (where?) on July 23, 1793. Noel and Martha moved to New Woodstock, NY sometime between then and Dec. 1796.

Since the family lived in Pomfret between 1783 and 1793, I painstakingly searched the Pomfret Town Vital Records between 1686-1865 and found only mentions of Captain Edward KNIGHT and Adams WHITE in records of town meetings and nothing else. Both were in the 1790 census for Pomfret, Windham County, CT. I'm not sure what to do now. Any info would help! TIA.

Chris Knight
