I am trying to find information on a Phineas Steven, born circa 1762 in Windham County.
According to his Revolutionary War Pension file, he was 56 years old in 1818; he claimed to have served under Captain Wells Clift and Colonel John Durkee from January 1776 until February 1777. He enlisted in Canterbury, Connecticut, and several of the supporting affidavits state he was "of Plainfield". At the time of both 1818 and 1823 applications, he was living in Seneca (or Geneva), New York.
He married Bathsheba Tubbs, and had at least four sons and one daughter, all born in New York:
William Stevens, born circa 1788; married Betsey Hammond.
Ann Stevens, born 14 August 1794; married Shubael Hammond.
Phineas Stevens, born circa 1796; married Rhoda Glover.
Morris Stevens, born circa 1799; married Catherine Hickman.
Grant Stevens, born circa 1801; married (1) Mary Mitchell; (2) Matilda _____.
I'd appreciate any help on this man's family.
