Hello all,

I am seeking any information about a family named SHAPLEIGH or SHAPLETON or ....... I can not find eith name on the surnames forums or WorldConnect.

I reportedly have an ancestor, Phebe Shapleigh of Killingley, Windham, married (or int. of) to Ebenezer Colburn in 1737.

I's greatly appreciate ANY clues, hints, suggestions of such a family surname in CT or perhaps even MA or RI border areas.
