James Coates family of Lynn & Dudley MA & CT

I am looking for information on the following family:

James Coates, of Lynn and Dudley, married in Lynn (intention 27 Sept 1724) Martha Rhoods, born in Lynn 20 Feb 1702-3, daughter of Henry Rhoods and Elizabeth. He later moved to Dudley, Worchester County, Mass. Nothing is known of his parentage, although it is possible that he is a member of the third generation of one of the two famlies already mentioned. He is probably the same James who married, first, in Boston, 21 July 1715, Hannah Payn.

Children born in Dudley: James b 4 March 1731 Eliphalet b 25 July 1734; m 29 Nov 1759 Susanna Turner Hannah, b 24 April 1737 Benjamin b 17 Jan 1744; m in 1770 Esther Marsh, daughter of Jonathan Marsh. Benjamin moved to Newfane, Windham County, VT in 1780 Hezekiah, b 8 Feb 1747; m about 1790 Mrs. Rachel Wood widow of Jonah Wood

I am particularly interest in the son James as well born 1731 and whether or not he stayed in MA or perhaps went elsewhere - his birth date conflicts with the History of Windham by Larned, which shows that James Coats his father moved to the Killingly area between 1721 & 1726, so if he was born in Dudley his birth date would be earlier and if born in 1731 his birth place would be Killingly, CT.

It is possible this family connects also with a Charles Coats w Thankful in the area although not immediate and that some of the kids went to MD, ME and even SC or GA.

It also appears he was originally Quaker i.e. *intention* for marriage, but later in Windham County History by Larned he is in the Baptist movement.

There is also a John Coats in this same Windham, Killingly area which we don't know how he might be related either.
