Seeking further information about Jonathan Hough who purchased a lot from Hugh Caulkins in 1688. He also bought a lot from William Backus. (Both in Windham Co.)

Jonathan Hough was considered a 1st settler at the Ponde-place in Windham Co. At the 2nd town meeting (1691) Jonathan Hough was appt'd to find suitable burying place for Ponde-place.

At the first town meeting (1691/2) Jonathan Hough was appt'd to lay out highways.

This may be the son of William Hough and Sarah Caulkins of Gloucester, MA and New London, CT. This Jonathan Hough was born in 1659, New London, CT.

pp 63-76, Vol. I, History of Windham Co, CT

I am looking for any information that would positively identify this man's parents, his wives, his children, his occupation.

Ethel Stanton
