Blackman 1800's, Scotland, Ct.

My G.Grandfather was Daniel Blackman. He ran away from home (somewhere in CT) at the approximate age of 13. He was born in 1853 sso am guessing he ran away in 1866. His mother had died and his father remarried. He and his stepmother did not get along. He always said he was born in Scotland and came from CT. When I was told there is a Scotland CT in Windham County, I wondered if he could have intended a pun. My Grandmother (his daughter) said he had a great sense of humor.
He also had a sister and as far as I know that was his only connection with his family.
Grandma could not remember her name, so we have a very very little to go on. I am hoping someone my have a family story which includes a young man who ran away from home in this area by the name of Daniel Blackman or someone whose family had a son of the same name and dates whom they can't find any iinfo on.
