Seeking any information on the family and ancestors of Calista M. Whitney, who was born in Killingly, CT, & from her age at death must have been born ca. 1818.
The Barbour Collection has one listing (I know of) where she m. Horace M. CORNELL, 25 Sep 1837, by Peleg PECKHAM, Elder, in Sterling, Windham County, CT [Sterling VR, vol. 1:261].
Unusual for the 1850 Census, the enumerator in Killingly, Windham County, CT, recorded the town as well as the state of a person's birth. Callista's b.p. is given as Killingly, CT.
Calesta M. Cornell, wife of Horace, died Mar. 17, 1887, age 69 yrs. Bur. New Abbington Cemetery, Pomfret, Windham County, CT -- Hale Collection.
