I ran Simon Hunt on the AIS and came up with 34 hits in 14 States between 1790 and 1860. Tenn to CT seems an odd migration pattern. Also, I found a Simon Hunt in Tenn in 1814 on an early tax census so it looks like your Simon was in TN from 1780 through 1814 and not the one in CT in 1790.
