Bigelow Hollow

Does anyone know why Bigelow Hollow State park was named "Bigelow"? the DEP says there is no known reason for this name as no one with this name was associated with the area. But there were many Bigelows who lived in MA from the late 1600's and on. Also a few from Hartford County. There are a couple of roads in Windham County called Bigelow Road, South Bigelow Road.

Here's hoping!
