Timothy Watrous to Mary Polly Rowley Somers or Colchester Abt 1815 Then To Ohio

There are many Timothy Watrous'. He was born about 1782 in Connecticut. He married Mary Rowley at an unknown date and migrated with her and two sons in 1817 to Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio. He received lands in a tract "for the families of those who fought in the American Revolution." I assume his father was the one who fought. At the time of the migration he had two sons: William born in 1809 and Samuel born in 1807. Mary Rowley may or may not be their mother but we think not. So, Timothy probably is in a record with an earlier marriage prior to 1807.

His migration to Ohio was with other families including that of Jesse Richardson who was a Revolutionary War hero and the Cone Family. The Richardson family figures prominently in the Estate Documents left behind when Timothy died in 1818. He was also linked with a Waters family but the continual change in the spelling of Watrous and Waters in documents makes it hard to know which is correct. Don't know who the parents of Mary Polly Rowley were either or if this was her first marriage. After Timothy's death she gave birth to a son, Jerome Timothy Watrous who migrated from Zanesville to Henderson County Illinois in 1844. Sons William and Samuel sold Timothy's land in the 1830s and migrated to Peoria, Illinois.

Thanks for any help.

Sandy Watrous
