In 1850,according to the census, Gardner Wilcox was living in Preston, New London County CT, was a blacksmith and did own real estate valued at $300. No sign of Jeffrey Olin in 1850, but in 1860, he (Jeofrey) was in Andover, Tolland County, age 46, farmer and blacksmith, real estate value $1,200. No sign of Gardner Wilcox in CT in 1860. Difficult to tell with just census snapshots every 10 years, what transactions they might have had.
