Many thanks for your reply. I will definitely have to explore this family more. There was a daughter named LaNea who would have been about the same age as the daughter in this family. My grandfather was born in Michigan, not Colorado, though, but that could be a mistake on either the mother's or the census taker's part, particularly if they got the name as Rarrick. I do know that my grandfather was in Utah at one point in his life. I have the impression from stories I heard growing up that it wasn't a very long-lasting marriage.
