BILLS & CHAPPELL families of Connecticut

A fellow researcher has posted on Ancestry.com that the wife of Capt. Frederick Chappel/Chappell 1737-1789, of New London and New Haven, CT, was Patience Bills. Patience Chappel 1741-1801 is buried in Danbury, Fairfield, CT, and her grave marker is posted on Findagrave.

I would appreciate any documentation that the maiden or previous married name of Mrs. Chappel was Bills and who her parents were if possible.

I have their children as:
William Chappell 1764-1834
Mary Chappell 1768-?, married Ambrose Ward
Frederick Chappell 1770-1782
Elizabeth Chappell 1772-?
Sarah/ Sally Chappell 1776-?
Nancy Chappell 1783-1827, married in 1805 Elihu Spear, died in Hancock County, IL

I'm researching this family for a friend who is descended through Nancy Chappell.

Thanks in advance.

Martha Arman Murphy
