Can anyone verify the parents for Clark/e Davis who was born on 2/22/1771 and died 4/1/1853. His wife Mary (Miner?) is buried next to him in Stonington, Ct. Mary was born in 1772 and died on 2/5/1848. I can find other Clarks Davis', one a son of Joseph and Comfort who seems to have died in NY state, but this Clark and his son seemed to have stayed in Ct. The book about old Stonington houses written at the turn of the century by Grace Denison Wheeler, states that Clark was the son of Elder Joseph Davis and was brother to Joseph Davis, the father of Lucretia, buried at 30 y.o. in the same Stonington cemetery as the Clark Davis family. The inconsistencies are very frustrating.
