Fargo Y-DNA Project participants sought

This DNA project seeks to find familial connections between the various branches of the FARGO line, including variant spellings such as FERGO and FARGEAU. This family is famous for producing one of the founders of Wells-Fargo company. The project may be joined by males of any Fargo line at:

The goal is to collect 20 or more DNA samples from people with these surnames and display the results so that we can determine the origin of the various lines. Another goal is to verify genealogical connections, since there were possibly adoptions and there was poor record keeping. The founder of the American FARGO line is said to be Jacent FARGEAU, b. about 1622 in France. DNA testing can lend support to this theory, or refute it.
