In Reply to: A death, a marriage, and a birth in Waterbury by David Farrell of 1107

David, it is quite possible with the census records that information may be filed under a different spelling.
I could not find information when my grandmother came into ellis island from Forenza, Italy in 1906, because it was filed under Colaugeto Filomena , when it should have been Filomena Colangelo. I had help from others at the Italian on line genealogy board.
I got the ship manifest from the NARA, in Pittsfield, MA.
There are many searchers out there that are willing to help.
There is a hartford address i wrote to for my grandparents marriage certificate and my grandfather wrote his name FACIUTI, but there are all diferent spellings for our name.

This is the address i wrote for the marriage certificate
City of Hartford
Health and Human services
Bureau of Vital Records
550 Main St.
Hartford, CT. 06103
I believe I paid $5 for the marriage certificate.
I had no dates for my grandparents marriage.
I only knew the childrens birthdates. One of the children was my dad.

My grandmother colangelo died in Stamford, CT. and i wrote there for her death certificate.
Hope this will help u and if you still need more help, please do contact me efacciuto59@yahoo.com Betty
