My grandfather, John Francis Farrell, ran a photography studio in Waterbury, Connecticut from 1887 to the early 1900s. His father, John Farrell, arrived in NYC on October 30, 1848 aboard the ship West Point. My brick wall involves
the uncertainty in regard to which Irish county was my great grandfather's birthplace. My great great grandfather was Patrick Farrell. My cousins insist that John Farrell came from Athlone but is it Roscommon or Westmeath? My mother always said he came from County Mayo. JF Farrell married Margaret Dunnigan of Watertown, CT in 1895. I do know for a well-documented fact that the Dunnigans came from Athlone, Westmeath. Any ideas on how to clear up this
confusion will be most appreciated.
