Hello fellow researchers! I am in a bind trying to find out the parental line of Henry Josiah DAVIS, born about 1814 in NY, but a generation before, the family resided in the Middletown, Middlesex,CT area. So I am hoping that someone can email me with more info.
Henry Josiah DAVIS married Cynthia E. COOK about 1840, and they had several children, but my line comes from their daughter Delia E. DAVIS, born 01 Oct 1841 in CT. I am looking for the lineage of Henry Josiah DAVIS, who sometimes in later life went by the name Josiah DAVIS, on the census at least. Henry Josiah was listed as being born in NY about 1814,& I did find a reference that his dad, Henry DAVIS (whose wife was Abigail TREADWAY) was born in CT. But I can not find any other info that connects me further back. I think I may have found the TREADWAY line, but the DAVIS line is somewhat of a brickwall.
