Augustus Clark Alden was born in Connecticut in August, 1853. He married Mary E. Porter, moved to the New York City area, then finally New Jersey (where my grandfather Augustus Porter Alden was born in 1879). He may have been born August 28, 1853 in East Haddam, CT, as an Alden was born that day but Barbour records don't seem to list baby or parents first names. Based on his middle name, his mother might have been a Clark. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
