I'm glad I could help.
I assume the "dad" on the Civilian Draft Registration means Harold's father was born in Easton, Conn.I searched the 1880 Census for Easton, looking for an Abbott family that had a son Charles about 9 yrs. old, but I didn't find any. There was only one Abbott family in Easton then -- Philo and Edoria, an elderly couple, with a son named Afforus.Charles Abbott may have been born in Easton, but his family apparently didn't stay there for much longer after that.
In the 1900 Census he says he was married 8 years.Maybe he was married in Ridgefield.Try to get his marriage certificate from the town clerk. That will give his date and place of birth and -- if you're lucky -- maybe his parents' names.
