Mr. and Mrs Orlando Frank Porter of West Road, Colchester, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday. They will have open house at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Roy M. Pettengill at New London Turnpike and Pettengill Road in Marlborough on Sunday from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Mr. Porter, 75, who was born in Andover and is a retired carpenter, and his wife, Mabel Belle Lamere, who was born in Newport, Vermont, were married in Newark, N. J. Mr. and Mrs. Poter have four other children, Mrs. Mabel Louise Hollister of Hartford, Frank Ellsworth Porter of Colchester, Mrs. Lillian Gilbert Herbert of Chula Vista, Calif., and Mrs. Edna Sousa of Groton. They also have 14 grandchildren and one grandchild [sic].

Mrs. Porter, the former Mabel Belle LaMere, was born in Newport, Vt. The couple was married in Newark, N. Y.
