Oh, I did not know that about Social Security cards. That actually explains a lot. I have thought about contacting Sikorsky before, it could be very interesting information. Apparently he designed the lock that kept the helicopter door from coming open while in flight! He was a locksmith in Germany, so that story makes sense to me!
I'm going to contact the libraries for certain and see what I can find. I also am planning to contact the Polish Catholic Church in that area, St. Mary's to see if maybe he and his family were parishioners.
