Dear David,

Clarence's obituary is online. Go to this website:
http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=SrsqWtBqNIQC&dat=19880902&printsec=frontpage&hl=en

and then to pB7
The obituary suggests Clarence's parents were Charles and Sarah Champion Banta.

The 1910 census places the family in East Lyme and provides the same parents names.

Hope this is helpful,
Claire Ammon
