BOZRAH - Lyle E. Crouch, 93, passed away on December 25, 2009. He was born in (Mystic) Stonington, CT on December 15, 1916, son of the late Elmer Alden Crouch and Phebe Etta (Whipple) Crouch.
He was united in marriage to Mary (Abel) Crouch on August 20, 1939 at the Bozrah Centre Congregational Church where he was a member and trustee. Mary died June 2, 2005.
A charter member of the Bozrah Grange and the Thames Valley Rock Hounds, and an avid traveler with his wife, he visited Canada, USA, and Alaska unearthing rocks.
During the late 40's he donated the altar to the Westminister Church in Canterbury. His life's work was a dealer in farm machinery. His businesses were known as Crouch Farm Machinery, and Tractor Parts Unlimited.
He leaves his children Inez Crouch LaChance, Jane-Ann Crouch Tatro, and Alice Crouch Mokrzewski. Ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, a sister in law Inez A. Lattimore, and several nieces and nephews. He was prede-ceased by a son Lyle A. Crouch, his brother Erwin Crouch, and sisters Enid Shafer and Minnie Rhodes.
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Bozrah Centre Congregational Church, Route 163, Bozrah. Interment will be in Lambtown Cemetery, Ledyard at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of S.E. CT., 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT. 06360.
