Caroline ?Ensminger? Mahan, b:NY 1815, parents CT

Any help concerning her would be greatly appreciated. All info about her is collected from census records.

Born 1815, New York. Parents both from Connecticut.
Marries MICHAEL MAHAN, presumably abt 1852, in NY.
Her son, CHARLES MAHAN, is born Aug 1854, NY.
1860-resides Harrison County, Illinois
1870, 1880--resides Winnebago County, Illinois
1885--resides Oelwein, Iowa
July 1892--dies of a stroke, Oelwein Iowa

We know her 1st name was Caroline, and she was 15 years older then her husband, who landed in NYC Aug's very likely he met Caroline there. I know Michael was in NYC in Aug 1851 and their only son was born in NY Aug 1854.

By 1861 they are in Harrison County when Michael enlists in the War, by 1870 in Winnebago County. The only clue to her maiden name is the 1925 Iowa census where her son. Charles. give name as "ENSINGER Don't know". It could be Ensinger or Ensminger.

Looking for connections in NY and CT that may be my gg-grandmother...MANY THANKS!
