Frances H. Geigl, 90, formerly of Newington and Wethersfield, widow of William A. Geigl, died Friday (April 25. 2003) at Hughes Health & Rehabilitation in West Hartford. Born in Taftville, daughter of the late Captain John L. and Beatrice (Aberg) O'Connell. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1927 and the Hartford Secretarial School. At its inception she worked at the Merit Tool and Die Co., founded by her husband. She then transitioned into becoming a dedicated homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Wethersfield and faithfully served her Lord for many years. She was a woman of great character and integrity and will be remembered for her kindness, gentleness, compassion and generosity. She was never afraid to show love and always had a warm, and heartfelt hug for everyone. Those hugs will be greatly missed! Despite some bumps and bangs along the way, she faced life with courage and retained an absolutely delightful sense of humor and a charming wit even until the end. Frances lived her life like a prayer. She loved God and His love flowed through her. She was forever thankful to her Lord Jesus for his sacrificial death on her behalf. She lived a life of gratitude and thankfulness and was most appreciative, of any kindness shown to her. She loved life, beauty, flowers, music, and enjoyed immensely watching birds at her feeder. She also expressed that one day she would like to live where the mountains met the sea. In heaven, she will have that and so very much more. She loved people and always looked for the good in everyone. She was truly a blessing to all who knew her. She was also a wonderful wife, mother and mom. Frances leaves her daughter, Marilyn Geigl of Wethersfield and her beloved son and caregiver, William Geigl of Newington. She also leaves her dear brother, Floyd F. Parrish of Newington: her beloved sister-in-law, Margaret E. O'Connell of Hartford; a very special cousin, Marian L. Daly of Wilmington, N.C. and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant son, Robert Bruce Geigl and by her brothers, James W. O'Connell, John T. O'Connell and Raymond O'Connell. Special thanks to all those who expressed kindness and loving support of Frances during these past months. Funeral will be Wednesday, April 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 29, 5-8 p.m. at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to go directly to church on Wednesday. Those wishing may send memorial donations to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 371 Wolcott Hill Road, Wethersfield, CT 06109.
