I am helping in Carols search of her Ancesters The Wheldon line and Christian line......I found a Watkins Christian living in Connecticut with the Caple family....If you have ever read Vicki Welch book and I believe title was Keys to the Shackles then this name of Caples were of Indian Heritage....Was Watkins a family member to the Caples???? or perhaps a trader of Goods living in their village??...........Would love to know..................There was a John Wheldon and he started the First Colored Persons Hotel in Connecticut Love to know more about this(we have newspaper articles on this) also and a John W Christian in his obituary stated he had slave relative.................We have all the census records so we dont need them. What we do need is to connect with persons that lines can attach to this family.............Also I do not have acess to the Hartford Currant after 1922 time frame...Perhaps anyone who has access to after that and before 1980,s could search for obituaries in that paper 1923<>1980 names of Wheldon variant spelling and lso last name of Christian
Thankyou
Flo
