David Baldwin's Ancestors

Hi!

I am a descendant of David Baldwin and Sarah Owen Baldwin. I was just wondering if anyone has any information on him. All that we know is that he came to Washington County, Georgia, from Virgina and then North Carolina, was married to Sarah Owen, served in the Revolutionary War, and died shortly thereafter of a contagious disease. His son, William Baldwin, also fought in the War, was married to Elizabeth Kimbrough, and remained in Georgia. His son, William Owen Baldwin removed to the Montgomery, Alabama, area with his wife, Celia Anne Fitzpatrick, in a company of other Fitzpatricks, Baldwins, and related families.

All of our family records stop with David Baldwin, but family tradition has it that he was related to Abraham Baldwin of Connecticut and later Georgia. A few family records have David as the son of Samuel Baldwin who married Lydia Sperry. This Samuel was the son of Samuel Baldwin and Abigail Baldwin, who were also the parents of Timothy Baldwin in Abraham Baldwin's line. The first Samuel was the son of Nathaniel Baldwin.

Does anyone know if this David was a son of Samuel Baldwin and Lydia Sperry? And if he was not, can anyone tell me who his parents were? Any help anyone can give me on this would be most appreciated.

Thanks.
Minna Hill
