Hi

I’ve traced James McTaggart and family from Kirkudbright to the manifest of the New World from Liverpool to New York, 5th May 1860.

Then to

1880: United States Federal Census Fairfield, Fairfield, Connecticut
James McTaggart 70 head, married, Farm Laborer Birth: Scotland Father's birth: Scotland Mother's birth Scotland, cannot write.
Mary McTaggart 73, wife, Birth: Scotland Father's birth: Scotland Mother's birth Scotland
Thomas McTaggart 30 son, single, farm labourer, Birth: Scotland Father's birth: Scotland Mother's birth Scotland, cannot write.
Alexander McTaggart 11, grandson, single, Birth: Long Island, NY, Father's birth: Scotland Mother's birth Scotland, attended school within current year.
