I am trying to trace George Whitaker born in Wiltshire at the home of his grandparents William and Elizabeth Naish in 1864. Shortly after his birth with his mother Anne he returned to Birmingham, said to be the birth place of his father Henry(son of a Henry Whitaker, silk manufacturer)and Anne and Henry's residence.
Sadly George's father died in 1865, aged 31 years. It would seem that George spent time in Birmingham and Wiltshire prior to emigrating on his own to USA in 1892 and settling in East/West Hartford where he married and had a family. I know either George or his son was involved in the Whitaker Marine Co., Riverside drive, East Hartford, because I have a leaflet of an invention which was patented called the "Whitaker Engine Aligner".

I know nothing of the silk manufacturer other than his name appearing on Henry and Anne's marriage certificate

Hope someone can help me. Ernest Whitaker
