Yes - happy to do that :) But, I'm sorry to say no luck. No Dobsons in the book - there are baptisms for Lucy Rebecca, sisters Polly Maria, Millicent Sarah, Anela Prudence & Elizabeth Waterbury, all on 28 Jan 1800, all daughters of Hezekiah Olmstead and Sarah (assume this is Sarah Gale ??) Also marriages for Polly & Millicent. No marriage for Lucy.

I checked some other books I have. One is "General History of The Town of Sharon" by Charles F Sedgewick 1898 and the other is "Historical Collections of the Town of Salisbury Vol I" by the Salisbury (historical) Association. No Dobsons in either of these.

I also have some books with probate records of CT 1635-1750 but nary a mention of any Dobsons, which you would think there would be if the family had been in CT for any length of time.

I also checked my Barbour books for Sharon & Salisbury but struck out there too. I checked the Barbour for Ridgefield also because LDS has conflicting info about Sarah Gale - she is listed as born in either Ridgefield or Stamford, Hezekiah b in Ridgefield.

I found a bio of a Rev George W Gale in "History of Galesburg, IL" - the town named after his Gale family. It does say his grandparents were Joseph Gale & Rebecca Closson from England to Stamford, CT, who had a son John who had Sarah who m Hezekiah Olmstead, and the footnotes mention their daughter Lucy Rebecca married William Dobson, a royal line thru Sarah Gale submitted to the author by a Dobson desc.

Other than that mention, William seems to be quite elusive......I'm sorry I couldn't be of any help to you.....I seem to have exhausted all my resources here :)
