BTW, regarding the pension files, the Stephen Holley who appears on Joseph's application is identified as the son of Stephen, not the one living in Cornwall, VT. Also, I just checked the pension file for Stephen of Cornwall ... I do not see a Joseph Holley on that application ... maybe you have some other information I don't have.
If you want to pursue the paper trail I recommend you hire the NEHGS in Boston. This is a tough thing to crack - I know, I worked on this generation myself for a long time. Go with the professionals.
