In the 1800's several Connecticut families settled in the Western Reserve area which included Trumbull, Portage, and Summit Counties. The towns were Hudson, Stow and Tallmadge. The Deacon's and the Oviatt's settled in Hudson, others were the Darrows, Stow and Hudson families. Trying to find where Marmaduke Deacon who married Mary Carter and had 2 children John and William. William died young and John married and had lots of children. There has been indication that both the Deacons and the Oviatts were French who left France and went to Cavan, Ireland because of either political or religious reasons. e-mail clasonpoint@hotmail.com or mayboleayr@aol.com.
