Nancy,
I saw your recent post. I remember helping you out before.
Anyway I was at the Library in New Britain and checked out
some of the City Directories. The 1918 directory has Daisy(no husband) working at Landers Frarry and Clarke.
In 1920 she is a waitress and living at 28 Church Street. In 1930 she was employed at the Burritt Hotel living still at 28 Church Street with J Howard a student, also residing there. In 1932 Daisy is a food checker at 67 West Main Street and J Howard is an asst mgr (201-202) 99 W. Main Street, both still living at 28 Church Street. In 1935 the information is the same but the addresses are for Daisy 64 Church and the son 65 Church Street. In 1936 it shows that
J Howard is removed to New Haven (I believe that means he left to go to New Haven)
In 1940 Daisy is a cashier and just Daisy is listed.
in 1944-1945 Howard J (Dorthea A) is removed to NY.
In 1950 it shows Daisy wid of James, living at 64 Church Street. Also shows Howard J (Dorthea) Civil Engineer US Gov't also residing at 64 Church Street.
In 1954 it lists all three again.
In 1955 Mrs. Dorthea auditor, Hartford living at 16 Dobek Road. In 1966 Dorthea still appears at Dobek Rd. In 1967 she does not.
I hope this information helps you in some way.
Regards,
Pat Pelkey
