Libby,
Was the Jeremiah Murphy actually living in the city of Hartford in the 1870"s that you are looking for? There are a couple of Murphys' listed who were married in the 1870 Census in Hartford. Vital records index of Hartford may give the dates of death. There are also Headstone inscriptions etc available and possibly newspaper obits but you would need to know the date of death and the persons you are looking for. I saw a Jeremiah and a Honorah, and a Jeremiah and Catherine and their families for example. Would either of these be the one you are looking for?
