July 04, 1832 in West Hartford, CT. the information I have states: The Erving family came from Salem, MA and settled in Hartford County, CT and from West Hartford, (Dora's grandfather), who was a boot maker, came to East Hartford, bringing with him his son, John J. .... (paraphrazed from "Commemorative Biographical Record of Hartford County, Connecticut" 1901; p.666) Dora was daughter of John J(oseph) Erving, my great-grandmother.
