Carole,
When I checks on the data on the James Butler of Enfield, he did not fit because he had children b. 1779 in New London, CT. So he
could not have been born. 1763. But I did find the following:
Capt. James Butler b. 25 may 1765 Wethersfield, CT son of Comfort Butler & Sibel Ranney. m. 25 or 28 Sept 1800 Clarissa Sage b. 27 May 1776. He died at sea 1807. widow died 11 Oct 1836
Children:
James b. 7 Aug 1803 m (1) Mary King m (2) Mary Streeter
Clarissa b. 27 Oct 1805 m. Stillman Wightman
