My dear Pat,
JOHN CHRISTIAN, was my grandmother LOUISE WHEELDIN'S uncle,
who escaped VA slavery and made his way to Union lines where he joined in forces in the Civil War!
There is little info to be found on him, unfortunately.
I am researching my WEEDEN, WEELDON/BROWN AA/Native line
from which my ggrandfather, WM LAWRENCE WEELDON, Black, born 1829 SC hails---------have yet to hear from ANYONE
who claims kinship to this line and info seems almost non-existant, so your email is a rare treat.
Believe, but fail to find just how the DIGGS surname is
connected, but believe it is.
My Father, WILBUR ROLAND WHEELDIN, was born in 1909 Hartford.
How kind of you to be of help.
God bless,
