Hello.
I went through some of the Historical Hartford Courant and was able to find several news items mentioning Burton R. Nichols, I will finish the search tomorrow but here are some of my early results:
-----------------------------------
1900 news note reads that Mr. & Mrs. Burton Nichols, from Fishkill, NY, were visiting friends in East Hartford.

1907 lengthy news item indicates Burton R. Nichols (of No. 5 Burnside Ave, East Hartford) train engineer, was involved in an accident with a train running into his. Was a witness on the stand.

According to May 25th, 1909 news item, Mr. & Mrs. Burton R. Nichols of Olmstead Street, East Hartford were to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary the coming "Friday". May 25th was a Tuesday so Friday must have been May 28th. Married May 28, 1889.

1910 news mentions from whom Burton R. Nichols bought a house on corner of Elm and Bissell, East Hartford.

1911 lengthy news item mentions Myrtle, daughter of Burton R. Nichols of Elm Street, East Hartford, was struck by a car along with her two little friends. She survived the accident.
--------------------------------
I can e-mail these news items (and other ones I find) to you but I need an address.
