Hi,

Thanks for responding to my query. Unfortunately, I don't see any connection between your Elam Hays and my family. My great-great-grandfather,Samuel Hay, came to New York City from Co Down, Ireland in 1837. Although there might have been members of the same Irish family that came to America early enough to be the ancestors of Elam Hays, I don't know of them.

Just out of curiosity, I searched for Elam on ancestry.com. There is an Elam Hays in a member-contributed family tree who was b 1780 in Addison, Vermont, md Rachel Knickerbocker in 1801, and has four children listed, all born in Addison. Is this the man you're after?
